EDIX Integration Platform

  • The importance of collaborative business processes is established beyond doubt. Various industries have started harnessing the power and efficiency of collaborative application processing with a view to increased market penetration, improved processes and also reduction in cost of doing business. But the task of interfacing and integrating applications is still complex and is the major reason for lower penetration of collaborative business processing.
  • EdiX is a Collaborative Integration Platform that simplifies task of application integration.
  • EdiX empowers organizations to accelerate collaborative application processing and B2B integration in a cost-effective and reliable way where Return on Investment is realized over a short period of time.
  • EdiX platform includes well knit collection of integration tools and interface application functionality.
  • The core integration platform (CIP) and the supplementary interface applicationware (SIA) simplify the task of realizing application level interactions including information flows and interface processes mappings among various applications within the organization and also with various applications from the entities interacting with the organization for various purposes. The supplementary interface applicationware is a set of prepackaged applications or APIs that allow organizations to implement work-flow features in addition to the information flow and interface processes mappings.
  • New Opportunities and Challenges: Internet has simplified a lot of things and facilitated what a decade ago could not be dreamt of. But it has also raised expectations for increased co-operations and collaborative approaches.
Our Solutions

What are the issues?

There are unwieldy solutions and respective solution providers out there trying to justify increase in transaction costs in the name of fanciful integration platforms developed by them before 'the bubble' burst.

Some of the elephantine integration solutions are quite often retarding collaborative and B2B processing possibilities even for Fortune 50 companies.

What is needed?

The onus is on the businesses, their respective IT departments and obviously solution vendors to rise up to the challenge to meet the expectations in a techno-commercially efficient and effective manner. EdiX does precisely that.

Where EdiX fits in?

  • Collaborative Business Process Flows need to be increasingly collaborative to stay competitive.
  • Applications Integration within the Enterprise needs to operate in a collaborative manner and there is a need to look beyond ERP and EAI approach.
  • Integration & interfacing of processes and applications with external business entities also needs to be done in collaborative and streamlined manner irrespective of application product vendors, underlying technology and operating environments.
  • Lowering transaction costs and improving profitability is the objective of collaborative integration (and thus objective of all tools, platforms and interface applications) and not the other way round.

Addressing Various Scenarios:

EdiX helps in implementing application integration for many EAI and B2Bi scenarios. EdiX ability is further strengthened by coupling of certain interface applicationware for specific vertical based scenarios.

EdiX supports:

  • Integration with various common ERPs such as Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft for FSI.
  • Core integration functions such as such as translation, secure and encrypted data transport, parsers and output generators etc.
  • Standard formats such as EDIFACT, SWIFT, XML and also various RosettaNet envelops and also means of addressing custom defined proprietary formats as required by proprietary, vertical specific or simply legacy applications.
  • Operational Modes File (batch) and also direct business object interfaces, STP/Frictionless and auto-manual.
  • Industry specific scenarios - EdiX can be provided with interface applicationware for different industry requirements e.g. inter-bank requirements, cash management interface requirements etc. for FSI and web-stores automation, premier customer workflows, sales and procurement automation, fulfillment automation for sales and distribution industries.
  • Enhanced optional functionality such as business object preview, business object extensions etc.
  • Optional auxiliary functionality such as MIS reporting, reconciliation, exception reporting, alert generations, billing etc.

Scalability, Platform and Architecture:

Open Systems Platform & J2EE compliance: EdiX is available on J2EE compliant platform on open systems on NT and Unix Platforms. Certain EdiX base core components do not require RDBMS. However when EdiX suite requires supporting interface applicationware EdiX is available on oracle and IBM technology components (RDBMS and application servers).

Advanced component architecture: This allows EdiX additional scalability and flexibility.

Deployment Options and Profiling: Certain EdiX components can be selectively deployed with different profiling options and also topological configurations at different business partner entities to give a optimum performance, flexibility in deployment and return on investment.

Summary of key EdiX features:

  • Truly simplifies application integration. EdiX helps 'reduce' transaction costs and overheads by simplifying the integration efforts.
  • Helps achieve STP and frictionless processing using appropriate partner interface processes and scheduling templates.
  • Also supports auto-manual workflows for exception handling, pre-views etc. till they are need.
  • Simple and effective core integration modules and tools as part of the platform such as ERP adapters to translators to transport mechanisms which help in mapping partner interface processes and information flows between applications.
  • Supplementary interface applicationware takes care of interface application functionality that is not present or could not have been present in the applications that need to be integrated.
  • Work-flows possible in Supplementary interface applicationware also facilitates pre-packaged provision for certain auto-manual work-flows and documentation flows that are required in real-life scenarios.
  • Optional Pre-packaged Components for Interface Applicationware for specific verticals reduces integration, customization and custom development efforts per implementation.
  • STP and frictionless abilities in a phased manner when it is techno-commercially feasible and when partners are operationally ready. It does keep option open for auto-manual workflows and auto-manual exception handling.
  • Tools for transparency to partner interface processes and information flows and tabs and optional fall-back to auto-manual work-flows when needed.
  • Specific verticalized options are available where it provides optional support for pre-packaged vertical specific integration tools (e.g. SWIFT translator for banks, CARGOFACT for Transport Industry) and also add-on supplementary interface applicationware (e.g. reconciliation reports for payables integration, aging reports etc.
  • Dual Mode operations are supported for ERP interfaces where ERP Business object adopter interfaces as well as batch oriented file based interfaces are possible.
